Check out the new features in both Free and Pro versions of Connectify v3.0:

• Service Discovery: In the all-new Services tab, Connectify will automatically scan your network for available shared folders or drives, web servers, and other remote services and provide you with options to easily connect. Now the services are also listed next to each client (in the blue oval) on the clients tab.
• Simple Client-by-Client Firewall Controls allow user to control which clients can get to Internet and which can access local computers only.
• Support for PPIP and Qualcomm Gobi cards: Connectify Pro now supports sharing Internet from Qualcomm Gobi-based 3G/4G cards.

Connectify Downloaded More than Google Freakin' Chrome, This Week!

I heard some massive "woo-hoos" from the other side of the office a few minutes ago. In the middle of something, I didn't get up to investigate, but word quickly spread: Connectify for Windows v2.2.0 is the #32 Most Downloaded Application on Download.com! And we're talking about the big-momma list of Most Popular Windows Downloads.

To give some context here, we're just a few spots behind Adobe Flash Player, and we're actually three spots AHEAD of Google's Chrome browser. Of course, Download.com is a secondary site for folks like Google and Adobe, but still... well-played Connectify users! Let's keep the downloads coming so we can hang onto our self-satisfied smirks ;)



Connectify out in the World.

To my surprise, it turns out that I can do something right!  Yesterday, my daughter returned from getting her hair cut to tell me that her hairdresser is using Connectify on her Windows 7 laptop to share her Internet.  So that's nice to see real, hip people using our software.

Speaking of people using our software, two weeks back, we decided to stop hosting the Connectify installer on our site, and to move it to trusted download sites.  This means you can now download Connectify from CNET's download.com or PCWorld's download site (they have a nice editorial review of the software as well). 

There are two reasons that we did this, one is because of the trust factor: both sites virus and malware check the software, so you know it's safe to run.  Another is because they post lists of how many downloads different software packages are getting.  This way you can see for yourself that Connectify is the #1 download in Wireless Networking Software and the #3 download in Networking Software.
